Department Talk: Legal Challenges and Solutions for Ukrainians at Home and Abroad during War
The war in Ukraine has become an event of worldwide relevance. Millions of Ukrainians fled the war and moved to EU member states, others stayed. For the everyday lives of ordinary Ukrainians at home and abroad a myriad of legal questions have arisen in the areas of labor law, property, housing, medical service etc.
The Department talk at the University for Continuing Education Krems, Austria, was organised within the joint project with the Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv for broader discussion of current issues of martial law, introduced in Ukraine on 24th of February 2022, special provisions on property law (forcible seizure and alienation, compensation of damages) and labor law, specifically including restrictions of fundamental rights and freedoms of citizens.
